Busch joined the family-owned business in 1974 after graduating from Vanderbilt University. Being an active member in the community he grew up in, he has served as director of the Tullahoma Chamber of Commerce, vice-chairman of the Tullahoma Industrial Board, a UGF committee chairperson, past president of the Tullahoma Noon Rotary Club, Explorer Scout leader, chairperson of the Tullahoma Youth Basketball League, and enjoyed coaching minor league, Little League, and Babe Ruth baseball. He currently serves on the Tullahoma Educational Foundation board, Tullahoma Open Door board, and the board for Boy Scout Troop 303.

He is a strong supporter of the independent insurance agency system. The agency is a member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers, a national trade association, and a member of the Insurors of Tennessee which represents approximately 500 agencies across the state of Tennessee. He was the past president of the Insurors of Tennessee and was honored with their highest distinction as Insuror of the Year in 1985. Busch earned the professional designation of Certified Insurance Counselor in 1980.

If not found at his office working or involved in a community project, Busch will be involved with his family. His wife, Linda, has lived in Tullahoma most of her life, and handles the agency’s accounting. Their oldest son, Busch, graduated from the University of Mississippi and is employed at Bob Park’s Realty in Murfreesboro. Their son, Jack, attends the University of Georgia. They are members of Trinity Lutheran Church. His hobbies are golf, hunting, fishing, but most of all, he enjoys activities with his family.

Sharon Waller, Personal and Commercial Lines

Sharon Waller I am married to Leon, and we have three children Brent, Todd, and Shannon. We have spent many hours at ballgames and school functions with our children over the years. I now enjoy spending time with my four grandchildren Ayden, Mia, Nolan, and Breslyn. I enjoy cooking, love to read, playing Bunko, working in my flower garden, and taking long walks on the beach. I am a member of Grace Baptist Church, past secretary of Bel-Aire Elementary School PTA, and past president and charter member of the Highland Rim Association of Insurance Women. I am active in the Centennial Woman’s Club and am currently an officer.

I started working for E.B. Thoma & Son Agency in August 1977 as the secretary-receptionist. After getting my insurance license, I started servicing personal lines accounts. I was then given three of our largest commercial accounts to service. I also serviced all claims in the office. I am now the computer coordinator along with servicing personal and commercial accounts.

A lot has changed over the years, but our agency still strives to give the most honest, professional and personal service that we possibly can. When I first started in the agency, we had to rate all lines of insurance by using a manual, a calculator, and a pencil. We now rate on the computer and access our client’s files in a secure computer program. I have earned the Certified Insurance Service Representative, Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Professional Insurance Woman designations. I attend continuing education classes each year to keep up with changes in the insurance industry and to keep my designations. I enjoy talking and working with my clients, and consider many of them friends outside of the office. I look forward to meeting new clients and making new friends.

Holli Lawson, Personal Lines

Holli Lawson I am a native of Tullahoma, and have been employed by the Agency since February of 1986. I obtained the Certified Insurance Service Representatives designation in 1991. I began working in the agency after school, while still a teenager. After attending Motlow State Community College, I became the full-time secretary and receptionist, and then became an agent in 1990. I currently service personal lines accounts. I have seen many changes in the industry over the years, mainly in automation.

I am married to Mike Lawson, and we have 3 sons. Derek is a 2009 THS graduate, Ryan is a student at THS, and Cooper is a student at Robert E. Lee Elementary. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going to the beach when possible, reading, and watching my boys in their many sporting activities. My family and I attend Kings Cross Church.

I am a past president of the Tullahoma Jr. Women’s Club, past secretary for the Robert E. Lee PTO, and am currently the secretary for the Tullahoma Quarterback Club.

I strive to provide the best customer service possible for each client. I appreciate the fact that they have trusted us with their insurance needs, and welcome the opportunity to serve each one.

Linda Swann, Commercial Marketing

Linda Swan I grew up in Tullahoma and graduated from Tullahoma High School, then attended MTSU (it was MTSC in those long ago days). After deciding I did not want to continue with college, I found my first job – working in an insurance agency. After marriage and husband being in the military, we moved to Kansas City, MO and I found a job – working in an insurance agency. After military discharge, we moved back to Tullahoma and guess where I have been working – yes, you guessed it, Insurance! I started working in personal lines and in the early 1990’s changed to commercial lines. During this career, I attained the Certified Insurance Counselor designation and was a charter member of the Highland Rim Association of Insurance Women. I actually retired from this job in 1999, but came back after only a few months as I missed interacting with people.

I am married to Kenneth Swan, who has retired from Bell South and is now teaching Lapidary at the Coffee County Senior Citizens. We have two adult daughters, Kimberly who is a homemaker and Jennifer, who works for the city of Shelbyville as a Recreation Activities Director. We have one adult granddaughter. In my spare time, I enjoy reading Christian fiction.

For many years, I have been active as a member of First Baptist, Normandy teaching Sunday school, being treasurer, and now assistant treasurer.

E.B. Thoma & Son is a long standing business establishment with a reputation for being honest with their clients as well as their insurance companies. I have been part of this agency family since April, 1978

Teresa Dickson, Commercial Lines

Teresa Dickson After moving from Oregon to Tullahoma, TN in 1987, and spending the next fourteen years raising my daughter and son, it was time to begin a new direction for my life. I began my career in Insurance the week after “9/11” and have been with the E.B. Thoma & Son Agency since.

Currently, I hold my CISR designation, and am working on my CIC course studies. My main focus in the agency is Commercial Property and Casualty accounts, and I enjoy working with other businesses in our community to provide their various insurance needs.

I am married and we have two daughters, a son and two son-in-laws. We also enjoy our grandson and granddaughter as much as possible. Through my children’s school years, I was involved as PTA president and spent many hours at the ball fields enjoying their cheerleading and sports activities.

My husband and I enjoy gardening, camping, fishing and especially traveling. We attend Grace Baptist Church, where I am the assistant treasurer and have played the piano for almost 20 years.

Linda Webb Thoma, Accounting

Linda Thoma I married Agency President Busch Thoma thirty years (and thirty pounds) ago. I grew up in Tullahoma and am a graduate of Tullahoma High School, and The University of Tennessee in Knoxville with a major in medical technology. I moved back to Tullahoma and met Busch (a Vanderbilt University graduate) while taking ball room dancing at the nearby community college. I worked a brief period at Bedford County Hospital before taking a position in my father’s medical practice. Upon my father’s retirement in 1986, I acquired my insurance license and joined the Agency.

My community involvement includes past co- chair of UGF and Bel-Aire PTO, past president of Tullahoma Junior Woman’s Club and Tullahoma American Little League. I am a former board member of the Tullahoma Fine Arts Center, Tullahoma Babe Ruth League, and a charter member of Highland Rim Association of Insurance Women. I have been an ambassador for the Tullahoma Chamber of Commerce, and a building captain for Imagination Station. I am a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Tullahoma City School Board.

I enjoy watching football and baseball, playing golf, boating, snow skiing, scrapbooking, and my children. Busch and I have two boys, Busch II and Jack. Busch II is a graduate of Ole Miss and is currently employed by Bob Parks Realty in Murfreesboro. Jack is a junior at The University of Georgia. (At least we all stayed in the SEC!)

Susan Clem, Secretary

Susan Clem Although I was born in Fort Worth, Texas, our family moved to Tullahoma when I was four, and I remained in Tullahoma until I left for college. After graduating from Tennessee Tech University, I lived and worked in Nashville. I moved back to Tullahoma in time for my oldest son to begin high school. I have three grown boys. Zachary graduated from Motlow and University of TN and is living and working in Memphis. Jacob graduated from Motlow and University of TN and will be attending University of Memphis to work on his masters degree and begin an internship. Joshua graduated from Tullahoma High School this past May and has enlisted in the Navy.

I began working as Secretary for E. B. Thoma & Son Agency in September 1999, so I will be celebrating my 10th year here in September 2009.
