E. B. Thoma & Son Agency, Inc. was established in 1910 by Eldon B. Thoma. He wanted to offer clients the best insurance protection, with superior service at the best value. To do this would require the selectivity of dealing with more than one insurance company and the freedom to put the customer first. Being an independent insurance agent was the logical choice. The ability to offer more than one company's products without the obligation of an employee to an insurance company.

Three generations later, E. B. Thoma & Son Agency, Inc. still recognizes the important value being an independent insurance agency brings to its clients. We are proud to be a member of the Independent Insurance Agents of America, which historically has stood by its clients, you, our customers.

A native of Tullahoma, E.B. "Jack" Thoma, II was a past president of the Insurers of Tennessee and a recipient of the Insurer of the Year award in 1987. Additionally, Jack held the designation of Chartered Property and Casualty Under writer and Certified Insurance Counselor.

Busch H. Thoma is also a native of Tullahoma. Like his father, Busch holds the Certified Insurance Counselor designation. In 1985, he earned the Insuror of the Year award given by the Insurers of Tennessee.

Often, unknown to the public, the IIAA and its state organizations have fought for consumer rights in the legislature on the national level and with the insurance industry. These actions are taken because the independent insurance agency knows who its boss is, and that is you the client.
